Classes meet once a week.
Using MIT App Inventor, kids will use drag-and-drop “code blocks” to design and program a complete Android mobile app! To start, students will work on sample projects that introduce all the capabilities of App Inventor; from basic buttons and UI (user interface) elements to text-to-speech, camera integration, and game mechanics.
Students spend time during the year working in small design teams to brainstorm and build their own app concept from start to finish. Students may work in teams on projects. This allows for a more collaborative process, as well as more comprehensive and innovative projects. Plus, it’s more fun!
Please note: Apps are only compatible with Android devices. Applications are made in App Inventor and downloaded onto an Android phone. All campers will have a Gmail account made for their own app account.
